HILLSBORO, Ore. -- In their second season, the Hillsboro Hops became the new Northwest League Baseball Champions.
The Hops beat the Vancouver Giants 4 to 3, winning the best of three series at home.
They went 4-0 in the playoffs, sweeping Boise before they swept Vancouver.
Vancouver had won the title three years in a row.
The Hops won both halves of the regular season and went 48-28 on the season.
