PORTLAND, Ore. -- David Douglas senior Osa Odighizuwa is making a name for himself on the mat.
He wrestles in the 285-pound class and is ranked number one in the nation by two wrestling publications.
Recently, Odighizuwa swept through the Reser Tournament of Champions. He’s won two national freestyle events in the past year and the last two state championships.
During a break in practice he said, “It’s just fun to get good hard work in, wrestling teaches you more the athletic, it is mental and tests you.” He also says he “loves the team aspect.”
While Odighizuwa is a standout wrestler, his first love is football. He’s going to UCLA in the fall on a football scholarship.
He says his dream is to play in the NFL but if not he wants to become an engineer.
