CLACKAMAS, Ore. — Clackamas High School basketball star Jazzy Davidson, a five-star recruit, announced her commitment to USC on Tuesday morning.
Davidson, a 6-foot-1 senior, is the top-ranked high school girls basketball player in Oregon and the third-ranked player in the country. She chose USC over five other finalists: UConn, Duke, Texas, TCU and UCLA. She had offers from Oregon and Oregon State, but neither of the state schools made her list of finalists.
Last season, as a junior, Davidson averaged 26.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.8 steals and 2.6 assists per game, leading Clackamas to a third-place finish at state. Clackamas won a state title her sophomore season.
She'll join All-American JuJu Watkins at USC, who will be entering her junior season when Davidson arrives as a freshman. Last season, Watkins averaged 27.1 points and 7.3 rebounds, leading USC to a 29-6 record and a spot in the Elite Eight as a freshman. Watkins enters her sophomore season as arguably the best player in the country with USC emerging as a national contender.
