PORTLAND, Ore. — Martial arts movie fanatic RZA will perform a live soundtrack to his favorite kung fu movie April 27 at the Hollywood Theatre.
The performance by the founder of the Wu-Tang Clan will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
Tickets are $75 and available to Hollywood Theatre members at noon on April 2 and the general public at noon on April 3
RZA first saw the Raymond Shaw classic "The 36th Chamber of Shaolin" when he was 12-years-old, according a Hollywood Theater release.
He once said "the difference between a Shaw movie and a regular martial arts movie is like the difference between cornflakes and frosted flakes ... if it's Shaw Brothers, you know it'll be dope."
Critics and fans all agree that "The 36th Chamber of Shaolin" is one of best kung fu movies ever made. It was released in the U.S. as "Master Killer."
The plot follows a classic story line for the genre. A young man's world is destroyed by a villain. He then seeks martial arts training in a bid for revenge, this time in the form of a people's rebellion.
