PORTLAND -- A woman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition Thursday after a house fire in Northeast Portland.
The woman was found in the basement of the burning home, located near the intersection of 148th Avenue and NEHalsey Street, according to Paul Corah, a spokesman for Portland Fire &Rescue.
The victim was described as a woman in her 30s. Her name has not been released.
Corah said she was taken to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters were able to put out the blaze after cutting holes in the roof.
