NEWBERG - A main road north of town was blocked for more than five hours Tuesday evening by a tanker truck in trouble.
The second tank on the two-car truck had rolled onto its side at Bell Road and Mountain Top Road.
Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue crews responded at about 6 p.m. The intersection was closed to all traffic while they offloaded the truck’s cargo, aviation fuel, and cleared the tanker truck from the roadway.
Finally, at 10:30 p.m., Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue tweeted, “Overturned tanker on Bell Rd is back on its wheels.”
The driver of the truck was not injured and the overturned tank did not leak any fuel, they reported.
