WASHOUGAL , Wash. Police think they ve captured a serial car thief who used shaved keys to drive away with several vehicles in the Portland and Vancouver Metro areas.

Detectives said they have linked Daniel Ditlow to numerous auto thefts in Washougal, Camas, Portland, Vancouver and Clark County.

He would use shaved keys to open and start older model Hondas and Acuras, explained Sgt. Brad Chicks with the Washougal Police Department. Ditlow apparently would drive them for a short time then dump the cars. He would then steal another one.

Ditlow, 30, was driving with a suspended license and had a warrant out for his arrest on car theft charges in Camas when an alert officer questioned him and then arrested him.

He was booked into the Clark County Jail. Chicks said the investigation continues and additional felony charges will be filed.
