Man falls off cliff at popular swimming hole Moulton Falls

The man fell off a cliff near the Moulton Falls bridge and suffered traumatic injuries.

YACOLT, Wash. — A man was seriously injured Monday afternoon after he fell off a cliff below the bridge at Moulton Falls, hit rocks at the bottom and fell into the water. He was airlifted to a hospital with traumatic injuries.

Other people at the falls helped the man after he fell. Fortunately, two of the people who were there to help were an off-duty ER nurse and an off-duty Cowlitz County Fire EMT. They helped the man until paramedics arrived. He was then airlifted from Moulton Falls to the hospital.

No further information on the medical condition of the man has been reported.

Moulton Falls is a popular, albeit dangerous, place for people to jump into the Lewis River. It's also a common spot for water rescues. Five years ago, a teenage girl was pushed from the Moulton Falls Bridge, suffering serious injuries which ended in jail time for the person who pushed her.
