Portland chef Pomeroy to compete on 'Top Chef Masters'

Portland chef Naomi Pomeroy will be one of 12 contestants on season three of 'Top Chef Masters' seen on the Bravo Network.

PORTLAND -- Beast restaurant owner and nationally recognized chef Naomi Pomeroy will be one of 12 contestants in the third season of the cable show 'Top Chef Masters' seen on the Bravo Network.

The show pits the 12 chefs against each other in episode by episode culinary challenges. The winner gets $100,000 donated to a charity of choice.

Pomeroy has chosen Seed Savers Exchange, a non-profit that works to preserve heirloom foods.

Last year, Pomeroy was a finalist in the James Beard Awards for best northwest chef. Her restaurant Beast has won accolades in local publications, including 2008 Restaurant of the Year by the Oregonian.

Marie Claire magazine has named her one of the 18 most powerful women in business. Food & Wine magazine has named her one of the 10 best chefs in America

The new season premieres Wednesday, April 6.
