PORTLAND -- A 64-year-old Portland-area pastor was arrested last Thursday on sex abuse charges from 1997, and detectives now want to know if there were more victims.
Michael George Sperou faces three counts of unlawful sexual penetration in connection with a series of police reports involving juvenile girls, said Portland police Sgt. Pete Simpson.
The girls lived within the Southeast Bible Church community, now known as the North Clackamas Bible Community, where Sperou was a pastor until his arrest.
The churches have operated in Southeast Portland and Happy Valley since 1980.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims who have not reported similar crimes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Heidi Helwig.
