SEATTLE — Seattle is getting another visit from a member of the executive branch this weekend, as Vice President Kamala Harris is visiting the city Saturday.
Harris arrived in Seattle at 3:30 p.m. for an evening attending two political events in the Seattle area, according to the White House. She spoke at a political event at 4:35 p.m. and at a second event at 6 p.m.
Harris' departed from western Washington just after 7 p.m.
Though specific details of where the events were happening have not been disclosed, security teams and street closure signs were seen in West Seattle on Saturday.
Harris attended a campaign event on Saturday to raise money for the Biden Victory Fund, the Northwest Progressive Institute (NPI) reported last week. The location of the event is only revealed upon RSVP.
President Joe Biden was in Seattle earlier in May to attend and participate in local campaign events as he and VP Harris seek a second term in the White House.
In her last visit to western Washington in August 2023, Harris flew in and out of King County International Airport in south Seattle. KING 5 has not confirmed where Harris' plane will land.
The Federal Aviation Administration issued a temporary flight restriction (TFR) over Seattle from about 1:15 p.m. Saturday to 8:30 p.m.
The Secret Service coordinates with local, state and national agencies to provide a motorcade for high-level politicians like Biden and Harris.
