PORTLAND, Ore. – It looks like Donald Trump will not be making an appearance in Portland this month after all.
Oregon Public Broadcasting reports that an Aug. 31 rally and fundraiser for the Republican presidential nominee has been canceled.
Trump’s Oregon campaign director, Jacob Daniels, told OPB the cancellation comes as a result of scheduling changes due to Trump's visit to flood-ravaged Louisiana. Daniels said they “look forward to having Mr. Trump and Gov. Pence in Oregon at a later date.”
It was announced earlier in the month that Trump would visit Portland as part of a countrywide fundraising push
Washington Republican State Sen. Don Benton said Trump is still planning to attend a Seattle fundraiser in Seattle on Aug. 30.
Washington and Oregon haven't voted for a Republican presidential nominee since President Ronald Reagan in 1984.
