Vice presidential debate moderator Elaine Quijano got mixed reviews on social media for her performance Tuesday night.
The candidates were guilty of a lot of interruptions and often spoke over each other. At some points Quijano seemed unable to bring the conversation under control. Some on Twitter were sympathetic to the difficult task she faced in wrangling the VP nominees.
Someone is really going to have to buy @Elaine_Quijano a martini after this.

Throw @Elaine_Quijano a parade for her telling the candidates that nobody can understand them when they're talking over each other

Elaine Quijano is exercising great restraint. I think I would be screaming QUIET!!!!! Or worse by now. #VPDebate

New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristoff pointed out the irony of two men who say they respect women, talking "over the woman moderator in front of them."
Both candidates say they support women. Yet both disrespect and talk over the woman moderator in front of them.
