Moderator Quijano did her best to rein in Kaine, Pence

Vice presidential debate moderator Elaine Quijano got mixed reviews on social media for her performance Tuesday night.

The candidates were guilty of a lot of interruptions and often spoke over each other. At some points Quijano seemed unable to bring the conversation under control. Some on Twitter were sympathetic to the difficult task she faced in wrangling the VP nominees.

New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristoff pointed out the irony of two men who say they respect women, talking "over the woman moderator in front of them."
