Here's a county-by-county breakdown showing how people in the Pacific Northwest voted in the U.S. presidential race.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Donald Trump was elected the 47th president of the United States early Wednesday, defeating Kamala Harris. 

The Associated Press projected the former president to win after he surpassed the 270 electoral votes needed to clinch the presidency. The former president won 277 electoral votes, while Kamala Harris secured 224 electoral votes. 

Kamala Harris won both Oregon's eight electoral votes as well as Washington's 12 electoral votes. Harris won about 55% of votes in Oregon and just over 58% in Washington. The Democratic nominee for president has won Oregon since 1988.
