PORTLAND, Ore. — The race for Oregon's 5th Congressional District ended Friday morning with Democratic lawmaker Janelle Bynum projected to win, defeating incumbent Republican Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer. It was among the most closely watched races in the country, along with the seat for Washington's 3rd Congressional District, which Marie Gluesenkamp Perez defended against challenger Joe Kent.

U.S. House Oregon - 5th District
Bynum took the lead over Chavez DeRemer in early voting results on Election Day. She held onto her position, but the race was too close to call for several days until Friday morning. The latest voting results show Bynum with about 48% compared to DeRemer's 45%.
U.S. House Washington - 3rd District
In the race for Washington's 3rd Congressional District, Gluesenkamp Perez held a slight lead over Kent in the initial round of results. She was projected to be the winner Thursday night after new vote totals showed her with 51% of votes and Kent with 48%.
