PORTLAND, Ore. -- Former Portland Police Officer Joseph Wild pleaded guilty on Monday to harassing victims with his city-issued cell phone.
Wild has been in Multnomah County Jail since June, when he was arrested for making sexually explicit phone calls on his bureau cell phone to numerous women, including female police officers, a teen involved in a rape case, a woman in a domestic violence case and to a 14-year-old girl. He resigned from jail, shortly before he was to face termination.
Wild pleaded guilty to one count of menacing, 15 counts of official misconduct in the first degree and five counts of telephonic harassment, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office.
He will spend five years on probation and also was sentenced to six months in jail, psychological treatment, counseling and monitored phone use.
Wild's sentence also stipulated he could have no contact with the victims, no possession or use of pornography, 180 hours of community service and decertification from the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.
