Rachel Dolezal fired from Arizona teaching job over OnlyFans account

"Her posts are contrary to our district's 'Use of Social Media by District Employees' policy and our staff ethics policy," Dolezal's former employer said.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Rachel Dolezal, the infamous former Spokane NAACP leader, was fired from her Arizona teaching job after the school district she worked for discovered her OnlyFans account.

KREM 2 contacted Julie Farbarik, the director of alumni and community relations for the Catalina Foothills School District, to confirm that Dolezal was let go from her instructor position. The following statement was sent to the newsroom:

"We only learned of Ms. Nkechi Diallo's [Dolezal's legal name] OnlyFans social media posts yesterday afternoon. Her posts are contrary to our district's "Use of Social Media by District Employees" policy and our staff ethics policy. She is no longer employed by the Catalina Foothills School District."

Dolezal gained national attention in 2015 after misrepresenting herself as a Black woman while serving as Spokane's NAACP president. Dolezal was approached by a reporter in June 2015 and asked if she was really African American. Her parents later told the world she was, in fact, white in an interview with KREM 2 News. Dolezal was previously the president of the Spokane Chapter of the NAACP from 2014 until 2015, resigning following the scandal. She was also an instructor at Eastern Washington University where she taught classes on Black history.

A teacher being fired from their job for posting to OnlyFans is a headline you've seen across the country. Since its launch, thousands of people have posted to OnlyFans to earn extra money, many posting the content anonymously. The headlines have brought attention to wages for fields like teaching, and how much control your employers should have over personal freedoms outside of work. Those opposed to teachers posting on OnlyFans say it's crossing a line since they work with children throughout the year.

The article below outlines how a small Missouri community grappled with two English teachers being outed as content creators on OnlyFans.
