Did anyone win Friday's Mega Millions jackpot?

The jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday is now up to an estimated $640 million.

WASHINGTON — Once again, there were no winners of the Mega Millions jackpot, which was up to $560 million for Friday night's drawing. The jackpot for the next drawing on Tuesday is now up to an estimated $640 million.

There were, however, four players who won at least $1 million Friday night. Two lottery tickets sold in California and one in North Carolina matched all five numbers but not the Mega Ball to win $1 million. One ticket in South Carolina matched five and wins $2 million with the added Megaplier.

The jackpot has been growing for months with no grand prize winners, though a handful of $1 million tickets have been sold. With the growing Powerball jackpot reaching $875 million, this weekend’s Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots are worth a combined $1.435 billion.

Mega Millions hasn't seen a grand prize winner since April 18, when a 71-year-old man from New York won the state's largest Mega Millions jackpot ever. Johnnie Taylor of Howard Beach in Queens, New York, won $476 million but opted for the cash option — a lump sum of more than $157 million after taxes.

Winners almost always take the cash option, but they do have a choice to instead get the full amount in regular payments over 29 years. The cash prize for Friday's drawing was $287 million.
