ALBANY, Ore. – A Burger King in Albany was destroyed by a fire Saturday morning.
The Albany Fire Department on Monday said the fire was accidental. The cause was an overturned gas can in a storage area. The gas was likely ignited by a pilot light, according to Sandy Roberts with Albany Fire.
The fire at 1435 SE Geary St. was reported at around 8:45 a.m. Due to the extent of the fire, Albany Fire called in a second alarm to receive help from other fire departments, including Tangent Fire and Lebanon Fire, who shot the video below.
The restaurant was open at the time with five employees and two customers inside, according to Albany Fire. One employee was treated at the scene by medics but was not taken to a hospital.
