EUGENE, Ore.-- Thirteen train cars derailed in Eugene Sunday, prompting a Haz Mat response from officials.
Just before 5 PM Sunday, Eugene Police and Eugene Springfield Fire responded to the Union Pacific tracks behind Zip-O Log Mills on North Garfield Street near its intersection with Roosevelt Boulevard in West Eugene.
Union Pacific says one car contained hazardous material, but there were no spills.
The derailment caused a partial evacuation, detoured traffic, and stalled Amtrak passengers.
Police and Fire tell us there were no injuries.
