EUGENE, Ore. — A wildfire was spotted on Friday afternoon outside of Alma, Oregon, southwest of Veneta near Eugene, according to the Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF). As of Sunday afternoon, it is at around 60 acres, with forward progression having stopped.

ODF said that the vegetation fire at Letsom Mountain has spread to about 50 acres. The agency also said that the fire is near the area of last year's Haight Creek fire.

So far, no homes or structures are threatened by the fire. Crews are working on the ground and in the air in deep terrain with slash and timber to put out the flames, according to ODF.

There are no details regarding the cause of the fire.
