TILLER, Ore. — A fire in the area of Tiller and Drew is spurring the Douglas County Sheriff's Office to issue Level 3 (Go Now) evacuations.

Level 3 evacuations are for Tiller and Drew for all homes on Crume Ranch Lane and Devil's Knob Road (also known as USFS 1610), and one home in the area of Hamlin Prairie, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Level 2 (Be Set) evacuations have been ordered for all homes on Tiller Trail Highway from the intersection of Devil's Knob south to milepost 31 on Tiller Trail Highway.

A Level 1 (Be Ready) evacuation notice has been issued for homes on Tiller Trail Highway from milepost 31 to milepost 34, and homes on Pickett Butte and near the Pickett Butte Lookout Tower.

Below is an interactive map showing the areas that are under evacuation orders.

An emergency evacuation shelter has been set up at Canyonville School on 124 North Main Street.

The Dixon Fire, formerly known as the Tiller Trail Fire, was first reported on Saturday, Aug. 10, near the 28000 block of Tiller Trail Highway. As of Sunday morning, the fire is estimated to be about 1,600 acres and it is 0% contained.

On Saturday, Gov. Tina Kotek invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act, which allows the state fire marshal to mobilize state resources to fight the fire.

Single-engine air tankers are assisting; multiple fire departments, ground and air resources, including five helicopters, are fighting the blaze, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

What do evacuation levels mean?

Level 1 Notice - Be Ready: Residents should be aware of the danger that exists in their area and monitor local media outlets for information. Residents with special needs should take note and begin making arrangements to evacuate. Evacuations at this time are voluntary.

Level 2 Notice - Be Set: This level indicates there is significant danger to your area, and residents should either voluntarily relocate to a shelter or outside of the affected area, or if choosing to remain, to be ready at a moment's notice. Emergency services cannot guarantee that they will be able to notify you if conditions rapidly deteriorate.

Level 3 Notice - Go Now: Danger to your area is current or imminent, and you should leave immediately. Listen to local media and watch for emergency personnel who may be coming by to give further instructions regarding the evacuation.

This is a developing story; check back for updates.
