CAMAS, Wash. — A woman is dead after two jet skis crashed into each other on Lacamas Lake.

On Thursday around 7:11 p.m., Camas-Washougal Fire Department and Camas Police Department crews responded to a 911 call, in which people were attempting lifesaving efforts on a woman who had been pulled from the water.

According to the Camas Police Department, the two drivers of the jet skis, who knew each other, crashed into each other. The woman, 48-year-old Angela Narciso from Vancouver, landed in the water, along with a 10-year-old child.

Both were wearing lifejackets, and a boater was able to pull them from the lake. People attempted lifesaving efforts on Narciso, who was then taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The 10-year-old and other jet ski driver were not injured, the Camas Police Department said.

"We are deeply saddened to hear of this deadly outcome from what should have been a fun summer day on our beautiful lake," said Camas Police Chief Tina Jones. "Condolences to the family and friends impacted by this loss. We have heard of several water-related fatal incidents this summer in the region, and it is a sober reminder for everyone to take precautions."

Jones added that those looking to be out on the water should take a boater safety class, get up to date on CPR and be aware of other people, as well as wear lifejackets and have safety equipment on them.

The Camas Police Department, along with the Clark County Sheriff's Office Marine Unit, are investigating and asking witnesses to contact Sergeant Stefan Hausinger at 360-817-1503 or shausinger@cityofcamas.us
