WASHOUGAL, Wash. -- A train ran over and severed a teenager's foot in Washougal on Wednesday night, according to police.
The teen, a 16-year-old boy, was with his friends between two railroad tracks when he told his friends he thought he could crawl underneath a slow-moving northbound train, according to Sgt. Perry Houts with Washougal police.
A responding officer applied a tourniquet to the boy's lower leg. The boy was talking when he was taken to the hospital and the injury did not appear to be life-threatening, Houts said.
The incident was reported at around 6:50 p.m. in the 4800 block of Evergreen Way.
