BATTLE GROUND, Wash. — The Washington State Patrol and the Battle Ground Police Department are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead on Monday.
Around 8:17 p.m., Battle Ground officers responded to the intersection of West Main Street and Southwest 15th Avenue. Police said that the pedestrian was crossing southbound on West Main Street when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east. The man, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and is not suspected to have been impaired.
It is not known at this time about the extent of the pedestrian's injuries and his current condition.
The investigation is ongoing, and due to the severity of the man's injuries, the Washington State Patrol is assisting the Battle Ground Police Department.
