CLARK COUNTY, Wash. — PeaceHealth is set to acquire four Providence clinic sites in Vancouver, the hospital system announced on Thursday.

Providence and PeaceHealth have entered a definitive agreement. Pending the regulatory review process, the clinics will be transferred to PeaceHealth.

About 100 staff members — including physicians, registered nurses and medical assistants — are employed across the four clinics in Vancouver. Providence said that staff "will be offered comparable positions with PeaceHealth." The names and locations of the four sites are listed below.

  • Providence Medical Group Esther Short Clinic: 700 Washington St., Ste. 105, Vancouver
  • Providence Camas Medical Office Building: 3101 SE 192nd Ave., Vancouver
  • Providence Mill Plain Medical Office Building: 315 SE Stone Mill Dr., Vancouver
  • Providence Vancouver Rehabilitation: 222 Park Plaza De., Park Tower 3, Ste. 120, Vancouver

In a news release, PeaceHealth claimed that transitioning the four outpatient care sites to them will give patients in Clark County greater access to services because Providence doesn't operate any acute hospital facilities or a wide range of specialty care services in the area.

Providence Mill Plain Occupational Medicine is the only service that will not be transferred. Providence said it will work with those employees "to identify opportunities within their other clinics in the Portland metro area."

The acquisition is expected to become final in December 2024, at which point the clinics will be renamed.

"We want current clinic patients to know that while the names of the clinics are changing, their care team who they know, and trust, remains the same," said Melissa Edwards, chief medical officer with PeaceHealth Medical Group. "Both PeaceHealth and Providence share a common mission and commitment to ensuring this acquisition is seamless and does not disrupt quality patient care."
