Fremont Brewing in Washington creates first-ever custom beer for Alaska Airlines

The "Cloud Cruiser" will be available only on Alaska Airlines flights and in select Alaska lounges.

SEATTLE — Alaska Airlines and Seattle's Fremont Brewing have teamed up for a new exclusive beer that will only be available on flights and in some Alaska lounges.

"Cloud Cruiser" is a new India Pale Ale with "bright orange, melon and tropical notes" that was taste tested in the air by representatives from both companies.

Matt Lincecum, Fremont Brewing’s founder and owner, said the new IPA is "brewed with a select blend of malts and Washington grown to stay fresh in the air with you."

The can also features a unique design that includes a 737-8 MAX soaring over a "retro-inspired backdrop of snow-capped mountains, trees and water synonymous with Washington state."

It was designed by artists Jonny Mack and Dan Stuckey. Mack, who has worked with Alaska Airlines since 2017 and leads The Studio, has also designed the airline's holiday sweaters and several of the themed aircrafts.

Mack said the national park-inspired design with the Alaska Airlines plane "speaks to our roots in the Pacific Northwest."

“It was a pleasure collaborating with the Alaska Airlines team to develop the Cloud Cruiser can—representing the iconic Alaska Airlines plane and logo in the sunset sky against the background of the Cascade Mountain range—we had fun using every color we could squeeze onto this can,” said Stuckey, the graphics manager for Fremont Brewing.

The first-ever custom craft beer for Alaska Airlines is available in First and Premium Class, Main Cabin and in select lounges.

Fremont Brewing was founded in 2009 and remains family-owned in Seattle with three locations.
