SEATTLE — Five people were shot early Saturday morning at a hookah lounge in Seattle's Chinatown-International District.
Police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Lane Street just before 3:50 a.m. No victims were at the scene.
Four people with gunshot wounds were taken to Harborview Medical Center in private vehicles while officers were investigating.
A fifth victim called 911 from the 2700 block of Fourth Avenue South. He was treated at the scene by the Seattle Fire Department.
The four men and one woman had injuries ranging from "minor" to "serious," according to Seattle police. One man had emergency surgery.
Multiple shell casings were found inside and outside the hookah lounge.
One 40 caliber fired cartridge casing was found inside the lounge, 22 9mm fired cartridge casings and one fired bullet were found in the street directly in front of the lounge, five 9mm fired cartridge casings were found in the grass next to the sidewalk, and one bullet fragment was found inside a damaged Cadillac Escalade parked nearby.
No arrests have been made.
Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are leading the investigation.
