ALOHA, Ore. — A person riding a skateboard was hit and killed by a vehicle in Aloha Tuesday evening.
The crash happened at the intersection of Southwest 198th Avenue and Tualatin Valley Highway before 6 p.m., a spokesperson for the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office said the skateboarder appeared to be in their 30s, but deputies have yet to identify them.
The involved driver was cooperative with the investigation and did not show signs of intoxication, deputies said.
The sheriff's office said the intersection would be closed for several hours during the investigation, but it was reopened shortly after 8 p.m.
