BEAVERTON, Ore. — A 17-year-old girl from Beaverton died in a crash Thursday afternoon, the Beaverton Police Department reported Friday morning.

Mai Grace Tankersley was the driver in the single-vehicle crash. She was the only person in the vehicle, a Jeep Wrangler.

The crash happened at 2:27 p.m. Thursday on Southwest Tile Flat Road near Southwest Schools Ferry Road. Police said Tankersley lost control of the Jeep, went off the road and hit a tree, causing the car to flip upside down.

Drugs or alcohol are not a suspected factor in the crash, according to police, who said they don't know how fast the Jeep was traveling when the crash happened. At this time, the cause of the crash is unknown.

Members of the Washington County Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Team are investigating.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Beaverton Police Officer Steven Rogers at 503-526-2261.
