VANCOUVER, Wash. — A person riding an electric scooter was hit and killed by a vehicle on Tuesday night in Vancouver, police say.
The victim was riding south at around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday. They entered the crosswalk against the light and were hit by a vehicle driving east on Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard.
The rider was taken to Peace Health Southwest Medical Center, where they were later declared dead.
The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Police said they don't believe speed or impairment were a factor.
