A cat was also rescued from inside the building and reunited with its owner.

PORTLAND, Ore. — There were no injuries reported after a fire in a Southeast Portland apartment building Saturday morning.

Just after 7 a.m., Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) responded to a structural fire on Southeast 72nd Avenue, and when they arrived, a second-alarm response was requested. Residents of the apartment building, which had 12 units, were evacuated.

In about 20 minutes, PF&R and Clackamas County crews were able to control the fire, which affected nine units and heavily damaged the roof. No injuries have been reported, but 15 residents are displaced.

A cat was also rescued from inside the building and reunited with its owner.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation, according to PF&R.
