ROSEBURG, Ore. – The victims in the Umpqua Community College shooting will be honored at a tribute ceremony Wednesday night in Roseburg.
The event, called UCC Strong - A tribute to the Umpqua Nine, will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Stewart Park Half Shell, at 1003 N.W. Stewart Park Drive.
Members of the UCC student body organized the tribute and were encouraging everyone from the community to attend.
There also a memorial concert planned for Friday night at Jacoby Auditorium in Roseburg.
The gunman killed one teacher and eight other people inside Snyder Hall on October 1. He also injured nine other people, before getting into a shootout with police and then killing himself.
It is the deadliest shooting in Oregon's history.
The campus reopened on October 5 just for students and staff and then and classes resumed on October 12. Multiple candlelight vigils were held in Roseburg following the tragedy.
