Tree crashes onto SUV traveling to Doernbecher Children's Hospital

The driver was able to slide out of their seat and exit through the back, Portland Fire said.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A driver who was traveling to visit their child at Doernbecher Children's Hospital had a tree smash onto their vehicle on Monday afternoon. They were not injured, according to Portland Fire

Around 11:32 a.m., firefighters responded to the scene in the area of Southwest Terwilliger Boulevard and Southwest Condor Lane. A large tree had fallen from the hillside and smashed onto the SUV. The driver was able to slide out of their seat and exit through the back, Portland Fire said. 

The driver was traveling to visit their child at Doernbecher Children's Hospital. Portland Fire gave them a ride after meeting with police and city arborists.
