TIGARD, Ore. — Police arrested a man accused of an armed robbery at a gas station in Tigard on Thursday.
Robert Mitchell, 28, faces multiple charges including first-degree robbery and unlawful use of a weapon.
On Thursday around 12:40 p.m., officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at a Shell gas station at 11465 Southwest Pacific Highway. When officers arrived, the store clerk said a man came into the gas station armed with a gun and threatened the clerk to hand over the money, according to Tigard police.
Police said the suspect initially got away with an undisclosed amount of money and left in a light-colored Chrysler 300.
No one was hurt during the robbery.
Around 12:45 a.m. on Friday, a patrol officer found the vehicle that was involved in the robbery in a parking lot on Southwest 68th Parkway. More officers, detectives and a K-9 team with the Beaverton Police Department responded. Tigard police said Mitchell got in the vehicle and was "blocked in." Mitchel complied with officers and they arrested him.
Police found a stolen gun and cash. Mitchell was taken to the Washington County Jail.
