PORTLAND, Ore. — After three consecutive days of zero reported COVID-19 deaths in Oregon, state health officials on Thursday announced three more people have died of the coronavirus.
Oregon’s coronavirus death toll is now 151 people.
The three people who died were:
- A 73-year-old woman in Clackamas County, who tested positive on May 8 and died on May 16 at her residence. She had underlying medical conditions.
- A 73-year-old man in Multnomah County, who tested positive on May 6 and died on May 26 at Providence Portland Medical Center. He had underlying medical conditions.
- A 72-year-old man in Polk County, who tested positive on May 1. Further information was not immediately available.
The state also reported 49 new confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases.
Seven of the new cases are related to the outbreak at Townsend Farms sites in Multnomah and Washington counties, the Oregon Health Authority said. The outbreak currently affects 48 people with more test results pending.
The new cases were found in the following counties:
- Clackamas: 4
- Deschutes: 1
- Jefferson: 1
- Malheur: 5
- Marion: 11
- Multnomah: 10
- Umatilla: 2
- Wasco: 1
- Washington: 12
- Yamhill: 2
Oregon has a total of 4,086 cases (including presumptive cases) as of Thursday morning.
While presumptive cases have not yet tested positive, they have shown COVID-19 symptoms and had close contact with a confirmed case.
The amount of known active infections in Oregon is unclear.
In its weekly report on the pandemic, the Oregon Health Authority said 1.7% of people tested the week of May 18-24 tested positive for the coronavirus, the lowest percentage during the pandemic.
State data shows 119,555 people have been tested for COVID-19 in Oregon and 115, 561 tests (96.6%) have come back negative.
