PORTLAND, Ore. — A man who police say committed several armed robberies of credit unions in Portland over the past week has been arrested.

The suspect is accused of robbing the same credit union twice in two days. Investigators say the man, identified as 60 year old Lance Fluker, robbed what appears to be Advantis Credit Union at Northeast 15th and Fremont after 5:30 p.m. on Friday while armed with a knife. Police said he came back with a machete around 12:40 p.m. on Saturday. Officers searched the area both times but could not locate him.

Less than 30 minutes later on Saturday afternoon, police say a suspect matching the description of the previous robberies held up a different credit union at Southeast 10th and Belmont around 1:05 p.m. The address identifies the business as Columbia Credit Union.

After the third robbery in less than 20 hours, the suspect's luck ran dry. A man who matched the description of the three previous robberies was detained at Southeast 39th and Belmont on Saturday.

The Major Crimes Unit identified Fluker as the same suspect who robbed a bank at North Williams Avenue and Ivy Street on October 19.

There were no injuries reported in any of the robberies.

Fluker was wanted on an outstanding warrant for violating parole related to Robbery in the First Degree. Additional charges are expected from the U.S. Attorney's Office and FBI.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact Detective Brett Hawkinson or call the FBI at 503-224-4181.
