PORTLAND, Ore. — Police are searching for a person who was involved in a car crash and shootout in North Portland Friday morning.
Just before 11:30 a.m., people in two cars shot at each other at North Lombard Street and North Hurst Avenue. A witness said eight rounds were fired. Police said more than a half dozen shell casings have been found.
After the shooting, both cars sped away and chased each other before crashing in Northeast Portland, police said. During the incident, a telephone pole and other cars in the area were damaged.
One driver was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police. That driver is currently in custody.
Police are still searching for the other driver.
