PORTLAND, Oregon — A body was found in the Willamette River Thursday morning; the second body pulled from the river within the span of three days.
Just before noon on Thursday, a 911 caller reported seeing a body in the Willamette River off the east bank near the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI), according to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office. Deputies were able to recover the body, which appears to be a man. The medical examiner will determine his identity and cause of death.
On Tuesday evening, a passerby reported seeing a body in the Willamette River near the East Bank Esplanade, just south of the Burnside Bridge. Deputies and Portland firefighters recovered the body around 8:15 p.m. The name of the person hasn't been released, but the medical examiner will also work to identify them and their cause of death.
