MOUNT HOOD, Ore. — The Sandy Police Department said the 83-year-old woman who went missing from a Mount Hood residential care facility has been found dead.
Ki Soon "Harmony" Hyun was last seen Sunday afternoon at Mt. Hood Senior Living. She had heart problems, dementia and Alzheimer's disease, according to the Sandy Police Department.
Her body was located in a heavily wooded area approximately half a mile northwest from the care facility. There was no evidence of criminal foul play, the Sandy Police Department said.
Hyun's family said she was a kind, resilient woman whom they loved and who loved her family, expressing gratitude for the volunteers' and search-and-rescue crews' efforts.
There were over 30 volunteer search-and-rescue personnel searching for Hyun, coordinating with Clackamas County Search and Rescue, Portland Mountain Rescue and PNW Search and Rescue, as well as three search-and-rescue K-9 team.
Previous search-and-rescue crews, a thermal imaging drone and search dogs failed to locate her, according to the Sandy Police Department.
The Sandy Police Department asked those who live in the area to check their property, particularly inside sheds and any places someone might have entered to escape the elements.
