PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Bureau of Transportation says to expect potentially high traffic congestion near the Lloyd Center Mall on Monday, May 4, as the Salvation Army holds its first food box giveaway at that location.
The event is expected to be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on a weekly basis during the COVID-19 emergency.
PBOT staff worked with the Salvation Army to plan the event to formulate a plan that will minimize traffic impacts in the surrounding area.
The entrance and exit at the Lloyd Center event will be on Northeast Halsey Street, between Ninth Avenue and 15th Avenue. People driving to the event should expect to line up in the right lane on eastbound Halsey to enter and if needed, people can line up northbound along Ninth Avenue, westbound on Multnomah and southbound on 15th Avenue.
The event will be followed by similar food box giveaways on Wednesday in Gresham and on Friday at Clackamas Town Center.
For more information about this community event and the other events later in the week, visit the Portland Metro Chapter of the Salvation Army.
