Salem police and Portland FBI investigating 3 armed bank robberies in Salem

No one was injured in any of these robberies and detectives are working to determine if there is a connection, according to the Salem Police Department.

SALEM, Ore. — The Salem Police Department (SPD) is now partnering with the Portland Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) after a series of armed bank robberies in Salem, according to Salem police.

On May 21, the first robbery took place at the Valley Credit Union located at 2096 Mission Street Southeast. The second robbery occurred at Chase Bank at 5135 Commercial Street Southeast. The third robbery happened on May 28 at the Key Bank 1500 Edgewater Street Northwest, according to SPD.

Salem police said a man showed a handgun and demanded money from the bank teller during each robbery. He ran away with different amounts of cash, but no one has been injured during any of the robberies.

Detectives are working with the FBI on these cases and working to determine if all three robberies are connected, according to Salem police.

No further details have been released at this time since the investigation remains active.
