MILWAUKIE, Ore. — Rex Putnam High School was under a lockdown for an hour-and-a-half Friday afternoon as authorities investigated a possible threat. Law enforcement said later that the threat had been "not credible."

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and the North Clackamas School District were investigating, with law enforcement remaining on site.

Rex Putnam High School said students will be released at the usual dismissal time in small increments and to expect traffic delays. All sports practices and events have been canceled, the school added, including Friday evening's football game between Putnam and La Salle, OSAA said.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office told KGW that no shots were fired.

A student had reported finding a written message in a bathroom, indicating a threat to the school, according to Lajena Welch, principal of Rex Putnam High School, in an email to families.

Rex Putnam High School reported that all students are safe and that students were "being encouraged to use Chromebooks" to email their families. Students attending Sabin-Schellenberg Center when the lockdown was issued were being kept on that campus.

The school was in a "secure hold mode," which means that students are kept inside classrooms and out of the hallways. The campus itself was closed to all, including parents and community members.
