PORTLAND, Oregon — Portland's most famous bookstore will be hosting its first major warehouse sale this upcoming weekend in the Rose City.
Powell's Books recently announced its first-ever warehouse sale that will run from June 1-2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the chain's supply warehouse at 2720 Northwest 29th Avenue.
A few beloved Portland eateries including Nico's Ice Cream, Great Notion Brewing, Guilder Cafe and Nacheaux Food Truck will be on-site providing delectable eats for shoppers.
Powell's says the sale will feature over 30,000 books at discounted prices, including $3 hardcovers, $2 paperbacks, and $1 mass-market titles while supplies last. There are nearly 7,000 literature titles, 5,000 self-help books and about 4,000 children books, just to name a few.
Powell's Books, founded in 1971 by father and son Walter and Michael Powell, is a well-known book hub in the Rose City. The bookstore claims to be the largest independent new and used bookstore in the world, according to its website.
The flagship bookstore is located in the Pearl District on the edge of downtown Portland, known for occupying a full city block between Northwest 10th and 11th Avenues and between W. Burnside and NW Couch Streets.
