PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland's text-to-911 service has been restored following an internet outage at some city offices that interrupted the service for about three hours Tuesday morning. Regular 911 calls were not interrupted during the outage and continue to function normally.

The outage was caused by an "infrastructure issue," according to a news release early Tuesday afternoon from the city's Bureau of Emergency Communications, which confirmed that the service had been restored.

The city's non-emergency line at 503-823-3333 was also impacted and was left "working intermittently" during the morning, according to the earlier news release. The PDX 311 line was still working but the city warned that callers could run into unusually long wait times. Both of those lines have also now been fixed, the city said.
