PORTLAND, Ore. — Police are investigating after a man was killed in a crash in Portland's Concordia neighborhood in January.

The crash happened on Northeast Lombard Street and Northeast Bryant Street on Jan. 26 at 3:13 p.m. Police said a 2017 Toyota Prius, was heading west, when a 2014 Toyota Prius stopped on the side of the road, pulled into the path of the other vehicle.

The driver of the 2014 Toyota Prius was transported to a local hospital with what at the time was believed to be non-life threatening injuries, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB). The 74-year-old driver, Charles E. Preisch, died two days after the crash, said the Portland medical examiner. Police said his family has been notified.

According to police, the driver of the 2017 Toyota Prius was uninjured. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

No arrests have been made, PPB said.

PPB said this is the fifth traffic-related fatality of the year in Portland. But, the figure may be higher as some fatal crashes counted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), excludes ones involving suicide, non-motor vehicles or are on private property or non-public roadways.
