Armed and dangerous suspect flees after shooting man in neck near Molalla

Anyone who sees him was asked to call 911.

MOLALLA, Ore. – Police are searching for a man they say is armed and dangerous, after he allegedly shot a man in the neck and fled the scene on Thursday in Molalla.

Police said the suspect, Jeramie Thomas, is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him shoud call 911.

The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said Thomas, 37, shot Tihan “Tom” Mametieff in the neck during a confrontation just after 1 p.m. at a home at 9981 South Schnieder Road, outside of Molalla.

Thomas fled the scene in a white Ford F150 with a canopy. Police do not know what the license plate was.

Mametieff was taken to a nearby hospital and was in serious condition but expected to survive.

A nearby elementary school briefly went into lockdown when the shooting occurred.

Police said Thomas and Mametieff knew each other, and Thomas is a transient who was last living in the Salem/Gervais area.

He is about 225 pounds and 5-foot-7 with brown eyes. On Thursday, police said there was no danger to the public but as Thomas still hasn’t been located, on Friday the sheriff’s office said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
