PORTLAND, Ore. — A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Portland's Hazelwood neighborhood Friday evening, according to the Portland Police Bureau (PPB).
At 10:04 p.m., police responded to a crash on East Burnside Street at Northeast 113th Avenue. When they arrived, they found a pedestrian dead, who had not been identified, at the scene. The driver or drivers had left, police said.
East Burnside Street is closed in both directions between Northeast 109th Avenue and Southeast Pine Court during the investigation.
This is the 47th traffic fatality of the year in Portland.
