Oregon's swollen rivers continue to rise

The Willamette and Calapooya rivers both flooded the entire area at Albany's Bryant Park.

WILSONVILLE, Ore. — People are still waiting for the water to drop in places where the Willamette river is running high and even spilling its banks.

We started our day near Wilsonville, where the Boones Ferry Boating Club docks are seeing a lot of brown, high water. No boats were at the docks. Out in the main section of river, big logs and other debris floated by. KGW’s drone, "Fly 8," got an overview of the area, where the river is very high but within its banks.

In Albany, they had a little sunshine showing by mid-morning Tuesday. And everything was high and dry in town. But at nearby Bryant Park, the Willamette and Calapooya rivers both flooded the entire area. The park floods most years, but usually much earlier in the season.

“Yesterday the park was just a few puddles, then it filled up in about six hours,” said Tanya Morgan. Morgan lives near the park on a road that is closed because of flooding just past her home.

Albany city officials said they expect the rivers to recede starting Wednesday.
