Free parking, camping in honor of State Parks Day at Oregon state parks

Looking to get outdoors this weekend? Several free special events are planned at state parks across Oregon on June 1.

OREGON, USA — Free parking and certain fees will be waived at all Oregon state parks on June 1 as well as special events at other selected parks, according to the Oregon Parks and Recreations Department (OPRD).

All 25 locations will be waiving day-use parking fees as well as camping fees for all tent, RV and horse campsites on June 1. OPRD will also be waiving fees on June 2 to support Free Fishing Days offered by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife during select dates throughout the year.

State Parks Day continues to be a long-standing tradition since 1998 honoring the preservation and care of the parks by Oregonians, according to OPRD.

“Each Oregon state park is here today because of the support, investment and care from Oregonians and all visitors,” said OPRD Director Lisa Sumption. “We host State Parks Day in June to show our appreciation for everyone’s commitment to preserving Oregon’s special places.”
